WHY TSM?

We provide high-quality private instructions for piano, trumpet, voice and bowed strings. Musical training is a tremendous skill that is both rewarding and promotes discipline. Discover and develop your musical abilities with our experienced instructors.​

ABOUT

LESSONS

Students meet with one of our qualified instructors once a week. During the lesson, teachers go over technique, sight reading, and theory. Private lessons are currently offered at $20 per 30 minutes lesson.

PERFORMANCES

Recitals are held in the fall and spring for those taking private lessons. Tucson Baptist Academy music students also have the opportunity to display their talents in the Great Americans program performed every November, Many performance opportunities will be presented to students for growth and artistic development.

Melissa Salazar | Manager & Orchestra Library

Melissa has been playing the violin since she was nine, performing with school orchestras through middle school and later joining Mariachi Aztlán de Pueblo High School in her senior year. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory, History and Criticism from the University of Arizona and has performed with orchestras such as the Southern Arizona Symphony and the Sherman Symphony. Melissa has also played in orchestra pits for musicals like Beauty and the Beast and Newsies. A classically trained Lyric Soprano, she loves singing opera and early church music in Latin and Italian, performing with church, university, and regional choirs. She holds a Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Arizona and has years of experience working with youth as a Children’s Librarian.

Sarah Villero | Voice, Piano & Flute Instructor

Sarah began playing the piano at age 7, and has been teaching private lessons since high school.  She earned her bachelor's in Music Education from BJU and this is her 6th year teaching music in the classroom setting. She especially enjoys guiding students along their music journey in the private lesson setting and seeing them blossom through learning techniques, practicing ear training, and cultivating artistry through the study of music from various genres. Her goal is to show students what a joy it is to hone their skills in music so they can use it to glorify God and be a blessing to others.

Bill Browne | Brass Instructor

Bill has been playing the trumpet since he was 12 years old.  He served 25 years as a trumpet instrumentalist and section leader in the United States Marine Corps.  He was selected for Drum Major in 2001 and stationed in Washington, DC.  In 2014 he retired as the Drum Major for "The President's Own", United States Marine Band.  This is Bill's second year teaching trumpet at Tucson Baptist Academy and he enjoys sharing music with others.
